The No 1 driver in golf
TaylorMade adidas Golf (TMaG) now dominates the driver market, achieving this goal in late 2005 when it officially became the ‘No. 1 driver in golf’. The company had its first $1 billion revenue year in 2006, marking only the second time a golf brand has achieved this in industry history.
Drivers – distance through optimisation and speed:
2009 saw the introduction of the new R9 series. The R9 is built on the R7 movable weight technology by adding Flight Control Technology (FCT) which allows the player to adjust the face angle and loft/lie of the driver to correct shot shape. Combined with TaylorMade’s proprietary Moveable Weight Technology (MWT), the flight control allows, in theory, for 75 yards of lateral shot adjustment plus additional shot height adjustment due to the changing of the face angle, as compared to the latest R7 series driver, the R7 Limited, which has 40 yards of lateral shot adjustment.
