Top Tips

GreatValueGolf is run by fully qualified PGA Professional Golfers. They have over 100 years of experience between them, which they want to impart to you - the golfer.

They see the same mistakes being made over and over again. So to help you, they have selected a number of Top Tips, which they believe will enable you to both lower your score and enjoy your golf more.

Below is a detailed selection to help you improve your game and lower your score, but meanwhile here are six of our best generic pearls of wisdom, which can apply to any golfer of any level, gleaned from our vast experience over the years.

Six quick pearls
  • Club golfers tend to hit ‘at’ the ball, stabbing at it – instead try to visualise hitting ‘through’ the ball.
  • Ask yourself what your handicap is for each part of your game, and work on practicing the areas which need most help.
  • Warm up properly! You’d be amazed at just how many shots are lost in the first few holes due to not warming up.
  • Work on your short game. More shots are lost here than anywhere.
  • Aim for the middle of the green with each approach shot – it may sound cautious, but will give you more margin for error.
  • Look back at how you played each hole and consider if there would be any improvements you could make to your strategy. Small changes can lead to big results.
